Being near a lake and pond, every summer we get dragonflies, as the mosquitoes are quite active, unfortunately. What is unusual, is on our deck we have metal furniture and every year one comes and perches on the same chair arm or back. Only that chair and every year the last three years. This image was just taken this week and you will see other images in my gallery of other ones or could it be the same one? A family? We welcome them. The mosquitoes do disappear. The Blue Dashers are one of the most abundant dragonflies in the US. They have four wings with glass like surfaces when the sun hits them. The are black and yellow stripped with a blue tail with a black tip.
