Artist's Description
We grow sunflowers every year, and different kinds. Some grow to almost 15 feet tall and others are smaller varieties and different colors, not just the traditional yellow. Her is a photography taken outdoors at dusk to get the dark blue background that I was going for. It was blue hour, the sun had just set so the sky was still blue enough to capture it. I chose these three, and the heads of these are very heavy and the seeds dense. I liked the contrast of the blue background against the yellow, the yellow shades really pop. This one has sold several times at galleries and shows in our area. We give the birds and our other wildlife around our yard, the heads once they are past the blooming stage and save the seeds to germinate again for next years group!!
