There are many lakes in our area and around them and through our community are nature trails that are kept up by our city. This photograph was taken on The Owls Roost Trail, which is 4.3 miles around Lake Brandt. As I was walking along the trail, which has a very dense forest and is one thing North Carolina is known for, the light was shining on this one leaf. With camera in hand, I was able to capture this before the light shifted. I added a texture to this for interest.
Whether you're hiking or biking, the Owls Roost Trail promises a good workout. Owls Roost Trail is designed for the enjoyment of mountain bike enthusiasts and hikers. The trail is considered very difficult and has a number of technical features. Cyclists should know their limits and ride only if they know what to expect. Cyclists are asked to yield trail right-of-way to hikers. Please avoid riding after rainfall when the trails are muddy.
