During a drive out on the country going toward the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC, we came across this beautiful red barn on a farm. We almost missed it as a large sunflower field and corn field surrounded it and a forest on the other side. I liked the wagon wheel on the front and all the beauty surrounding the barn. I wondered what animals made the barn it's home as when we passed there was a large pasture in back. We were able to turn around and I captured this photograph just as the sun was lowering in the sky.
There are many barns we passed but this one really caught my eye. Now that fall has arrived, I knew the owners would be harvesting the corn and sunflowers soon and storing up for the winter inside this barn.
