This image is of a Golden Retriever dog we met on a walk at a park in North Carolina. He was young, friendly and I was allowed to get his picture. Golden Retriever's are so sweet tempered, smart, easy to train, eager for praise and affection, patient and just plain kind dogs. Their temperament though makes them not necessarily great guard dogs but each dog is different, so that is an opinion I have heard.
