Description
These Cherry Blossoms come out in the Spring, but had this photo and decided to digitally paint the image using oil and acrylic brushes. The tradition of celebrating the blooming of cherry trees in Japan is centuries old. The planting of cherry trees in Washington DC originated in 1912 as a gift of friendship to the People of the United States from the People of Japan. ... The beauty of the cherry blossom is a symbol with rich meaning in Japanese culture. Cherry blossoms are symbolic of the spring – a time of renewal. They can also represent the fleeting nature of life, since their time in bloom is so short-lived. Although the beauty of cherry blossoms will no doubt take your breath away, you'll find that these blossoms sadly die back after just two weeks.
