As it begins to cool down, we like to walk the many nature trails in our area. We have many lakes and these trails loop around them and if you are watchful, you spot some gems of nature that God has created for our enjoyment! The sun was out while we were walking but in North Carolina, the trees are some of the biggest in the east coast and the trails are cut through our thick forests. The light was hitting this one pine cone and as I always take my camera, I captured this image of it. It looked like silver shining in the sun when I saw it. This was taken as an in camera HDR with my Nikkor 55mm-300mm lens.
