Meet Rapid. Rapid was born eight hours before I took this picture. He was up and wandering around but staying close to his Mother or Dam. In this image he was resting from walking around for the first time. A foal is an equine up to one year old; the term is used mainly for horses. When a mare is pregnant, she is said to be "in foal". When the mare gives birth, she is "foaling", and the impending birth is usually stated as "to foal". A newborn horse is "foaled". I added this scripture about the horse from the Bible, Job 39:19, because it was such a special event to see a horse this young and so perfect. God's creation at work.
