During a trip to the coast and beach, we were wandering around the ocean and through the sand dunes. I had my camera with me looking for something interesting to shoot when I saw these incredible flowers growing wild on the dunes. This image was taken on the dune, with the sand in the background. After much research, I found out they are called Torch Lilies, or Red Hot Peppers. They were growing among the grasses on the dunes and were on different dunes along the beach and are perennials. These flowers were pointing up toward Heaven to me and I decided to add the scripture Psalm 66 1 and 2. They are Kniphofia also called tritoma, red hot poker, torch lily, knofflers or poker plant, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asphodelaceae, first described as a genus in 1794. All plants produce spikes of upright, brightly colored flowers well above the foliage, in shades of red, orange and yellow, often bicoloured. They are known to attract bees and hummingbirds for their nectar.
