Description
We heard about it, but were not really prepared for it. It started snowing some two days ago and with frigid temperatures, some of it stayed around. Then today, two large bands of snow and ice moved through our state and our city. With a high of 24 degrees, and wind chill of 11 at times, it was cold and blustery. When you want to see it up close, get your camera and get out there. I did with my 105mm Micro Nikkor lens and tried to get some of it's beauty. Hope you like this capture. Texture was used to frame this image.
This storm system will bring snow to parts of North Carolina around midday as temperatures today hover in the 20s. Winter weather advisories have been expanded to the west and now include the Triad. There are two sources of snow that will affect North Carolina. The first is a band of snow showers in the mountains that will slowly move eastward through the morning hours. Snowfall totals will be between half an inch to one inch along the Blue Ridge. The second and more potent source will be a coastal low that travels parallel to the North Carolina beaches. This storm will produce substantially higher amounts of snow in the eastern end of the state. Local Fox 8 News Report.
