Description
This photograph was taken on a day when it was just us at the beach during the week. The water was so calm and the color of the water washing ashore along the North Carolina Coast at Emerald Isle Beach, on Bogue Banks, was turquoise shades from light to darker. I was going for the contrast between the sand and the waters washing ashore and this sandpiper appeared and I waited until the shapes I wanted happened. It was a serene day, one we won't forget as the hurricanes and storms were brewing below out in the Atlantic, so the locals were preparing just in case. This did turn out to be the calm before the storm, Beryl was the first to brush the coast toward the end of our weeks stay there.

Great capture, Sandi! People aren't the only creatures who like to walk at water's edge. f/l
