Description
"Scenic Autumn Viewing" was taken while viewing the leaves in all their glory around our city and came across this pontoon boat taking a ride around Lake Jeanette in the city of Greensboro, NC. The area was a peak for the colorful leaves on the trees and the contrast of the blue water with the trees is just stunning to me. It is a favorite time of year, where God's warm palette of color brings us the last breath of warm weather before it usher's in the cold months of winter bringing frost and snow to the area. This image was taken with a Nikkor 55-300mm lens.
Autumn, interchangeably known as fall in North America, is one of the four temperate seasons. Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter, in September (Northern Hemisphere) or March (Southern Hemisphere), when the arrival of night becomes noticeably earlier and the temperature cools considerably. One of its main features is the shedding of leaves from deciduous trees. The trees are now beginning to loose their leaves and all will be gone by Thanksgiving here. Our temperatures as well are turning colder by the day and announcing winter is around the corner.
