Red Tulips Painted Still Life, was photographed in this vase from above and were found at a local gardens in North Carolina that was selling plants and flowers. They were lined up along walkways to choose from as well as in the sales area. The tulips are red but with beautiful shades of orange and yellow slightly running through them. I used paint brushes and digitally painted the image. Did you know: There are over 150 species of tulips with over 3,000 different varieties. Their flower buds are known for being almost perfectly symmetrical.Tulips are part of the lily family. The Parkinson's Disease Foundation uses a tulip as its symbol. Tulips were once the most expensive flower...Tulip petals are edible and can be used in place of onions in many recipes. Every color has a specific meaning!
