Description
Hyacinths are one of my spring favorites, and we have our bulbs in place for more this year. The purple ones seen to have the strongest fragrance of the other colors we grow in our yard. It won't be long now, and am looking forward to seeing them pop through. This image came from a photograph I took last spring, and digitally painted this with an assortment of brushes, color, textures and other different tools I played around with. This was done on a canvas and as a painter, I used the digital brushes I would have used on an acrylic painting. If you enlarge this image and look at the resolution, you will see the stoke and daubing work. yacinths are spring-flowering bulbs with long, narrow leaves that are folded lengthwise. Hyacinths are highly fragrant flowers that bloom in dense clusters so sometimes it is hard to get just one group without the others overlapping. This image was over lapped with other flowers, so that is why I decided to paint it.
