Description
This image was taken when Lake Brandt Marina is getting it rowboats out, checking them over and getting them ready for the water and the people that will be rowing this large lake. The image was taken at sunrise looking toward the dam. I have painted this digitally, added other enhancements as well. Lake Brandt is an 816-acre municipal reservoir. The lake was originally built in 1925 and raised to its present level in 1958. Lake Brandt is named in honor of Leon Brandt, who served as Mayor of Greensboro from 1907-1908.
Lake Brandt features fishing, stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), kayaking and canoeing. Fishing is most successful for largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish.
Rowboats, kayaks, SUPs, and canoes are available to the public on a rental basis. View activity and rental fees chart. Three launch ramps are also available to launch private boats. Privately owned canoes and kayaks may be launched year-round. Fine Art Photography Painting Digital Artwork by Sandi OReilly, All Rights Reserved and Copyrighted in the US and Internationally.
