We plant kale and cabbage plants once our fall mums and plants are frozen after our first frost. These kale and cabbage plants thrive in the cold and the colder it gets the more color it seems they put forth. This kale plant was all green when we planted it and as you can see has not turned this lovely lavender color and it will continue to do so and grow taller as it does. This image was taken in the snow as it was melting with a Nikon Nikor 105mm macro lens.
