This bridge, called the Horse Pen Creek Bridge, connects two of our nature trails in Greensboro, NC. that follow the creek to Lake Brandt, one of our largest lakes and a reservoir. This photo is an HDR and taken after one of our heavy snow storms.

The Wild Turkey Trail to the north of the creek is the perfect backdrop for your next scenic hike or adventurous mountain bike ride whether you're experienced or a beginner! At just under five miles, this trail features a tight single track, moguls, sweeping burms, log pyramids, bridges of varying sizes, woop-dee-doos, some small climbs and a big rock jump and begins at the Lake Brandt Marina and ends at the Horse Pen Creek Bridge.

After crossing the Horse Pen Creek Bridge, you come upon the Palmetto Nature Trail which parallels the western side of Lake Brandt �s southern arm and offers opportunities for viewing waterfowl and wildlife as well as some interesting geological features unique to the area. There are100 palmetto trees planted along the trail to commemorate its dedication.
