Fall Lights The Leaves, was taken while fall/autumn was at full peak here and this image shows a light ray from the sun hitting the leaves lighting up the shades or reds, oranges and yellows of the fall leaves. I added textures to this image to enhance it's beauty. Fall/autumn, is my favorite time of the year. God's paintbrush is full of warm colors that color every landscape, street, yard, farm, building around us. A trip to our NC mountains is a must if we can get there every year to see this amazing phenomenon. As summer ends and fall/autumn comes, the days get shorter and shorter. This is how the trees "know" to begin getting ready for winter. The trees will rest, and live off the food they stored during the summer. They begin to shut down their food-making factories. As the bright green fades away, we begin to see yellow and orange colors. Small amounts of these colors have been in the leaves all along. We just can't see them in the summer, because they are covered up by the green chlorophyll.
