We met this Emu at an animal rescue in a fenced area with goats, pigs and two shetland ponies. When we came to the fence, she ran over to greet us and was so friendly. To see one up close was something to see, the eyes are amazing and the feathers that stand up like in all directions on the head and neck. Quite a comical bird but very smart. The camera fascinated her so it was hard to get her to be still and not look into the lens or peck at it. Shiny, they like shiny. She got adopted, I am happy to say and we see her when we drive by the farm that is now her home. Emu's grow up to 6 feet tall and weigh up to 120 lbs and are the next biggest birds next to the ostrich and have small wings and do not fly. They can run at least 30mph and some say faster and fight with kicking their large long toed feet. When we were ready to leave she followed us up and down the fence not wanting us to go, hence the title.

F/L I really like the way the orange golden eye of this Emu is complimented by the gold tone in the background. This was well seen.
