Description
On a walk around Lake Brandt Watershed Park, I looked down and saw this clump of colorful leaves growing out of the roots of an oak tree above the water on the shore along the lake. We don't see leaves this color start to change until the end of September or fist week in October and peak is usually the last week of October. It has been hot here for the end of August and first week of September. I was really surprised to see the color, and coming out of the roots of the tree. Fall is around the corner. I found the design of the roots with the leaves interesting. Textures from 2 lil owls were used with this image. ake Brandt is an 816-acre municipal reservoir. The lake was originally built in 1925 and raised to its present level in 1958. Lake Brandt is named in honor of Leon Brandt, who served as Mayor of Greensboro from 1907-1908. We came to watch the paddle boarding which was a new addition to the usual rowboats, kayaks and fishing boats. People were out in force as it won't be too long before the cooler weather arrives.
